You stay in control.
What your agent does on its own, what it asks you first, and who can change that.
In short
- It asks you before it submits, uploads, buys or deletes.
- Only you can loosen the rule. Your agent cannot.
- Robot checks go to a person. It never solves them automatically.
The human step
| The act | What happens by default |
|---|---|
| Reading and your own details | Your agent does it |
| Answers that need judgement | Asks you first |
| Submit | Asks you first |
| Upload | Asks you first |
| Buy or delete | A person does it |
By default, a person does buying and deleting.
What you control
When it asks, you answer on an approval page.
- Approve this once
- Lets this one act go through.
- Always allow
- Lets that kind of act go through on that site for a stated time. Offered only where the product allows it. It is never offered for an act that cannot be undone.
- Deny
- Stops the act.
Your choice applies to one kind of work on one site.
Only you change the rule
Only you can loosen the rule. Your agent cannot.
Robot checks
Robot checks (captchas) go to a person, and the click spot is outlined. It never solves them automatically.
A web page can try to give your agent orders. WeaveCrawl looks for this and stops it when it finds it.
Your data
Your vault, cookies and login sessions are encrypted on the machine that runs WeaveCrawl.
The key sits on the same machine. That protects a stolen file, not someone using your account.
Your data lives on your own devices and is synced between them. We keep no customer data on our servers.
Usage data is collected only if you allow it. It is masked, off by default, and we ask at install.
By default, WeaveCrawl listens only on your own computer. A connection from another machine has to prove who it is.
What is not built yet
- Each run keeps a local technical log on your computer. A readable list of approvals is not built yet.
- You cannot yet delete or export what it remembers about one site.
What we do not claim
- WeaveCrawl never solves robot checks automatically. It hands them to a person.
- WeaveCrawl holds no security certification yet.
To report a security problem, use the contact in /.well-known/security.txt
